Bryan Rabon, MDiv, LPC

Bryan Rabon is a licensed professional counselor with 6 years’ experience. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Charleston Southern University in Psychology with a secondary major in religion and a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has also done postgraduate studies in the areas of Psychology and Counseling through Liberty University. Bryan has worked as a counselor in a local church based counseling center for 3 years, as a consultant with the counseling ministry of the church he attends, and as a Mental Health Professional for the South Carolina Department of Mental Health for almost 4 years. He has experience with cases involving attention deficit issues, oppositional and defiant behavior, men’s issues, family and marital issues, faith-based issues, and Christian counseling. Bryan is married to his wife of over 20 years and has 2 children. He has a passion for working with children and families and seeing the healing that can come through working together to reach solutions.

Justin Koon, Ph.D., LMFT

Dr. Justin Koon is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in South Carolina. He has been licensed in South Carolina since he joined the practice in 2011. Justin completed his state required licensure internship in October of 2013 and received his LMFT license shortly thereafter. He was previously a licensed Marriage and Family intern in Florida. Justin first began seeing clients for therapy as part of his master’s degree program in 2006.  Prior to joining SouthernMED Counseling, Dr. Koon attended North Greenville University where he received a B.A. in Christian Studies in 2004. He received a Master of Science degree with a dual focus in Marriage & Family Therapy and Community Counseling from John Brown University in 2007. After that, he attended Florida State University where he received a Ph.D. in Marriage & Family Therapy in 2011. During his doctoral work, Justin researched the influence of fathers on children. He also taught several undergraduate courses on family relationships & counseling while at Florida State. He has been married to his lovely wife for 10 years and has two children. He is an active member of a local Baptist church where he serves as a Deacon and Sunday-School teacher.  Justin has worked as a therapist in several settings including an outpatient faith-based therapy clinic, an intensive outpatient substance abuse center for adolescents, and an inpatient psychiatric facility. Justin has experience working with cases involving marital distress, pre-marital therapy, family therapy, faith-based issues, and trauma among others. He also received specific training in trauma-based therapy for children and adolescents through the Medical University of South Carolina.

Kathryn Grogan, MSW, LISW-CP

Kathryn Grogan is a Licensed Independent Social Worker trained in Clinical practice. Kathryn was raised in Northeast Columbia and has provided a variety of services to children and adolescents in the Midlands area for over 10 years.  Prior to her work with SouthernMED Counseling, Kathryn was a School Based Mental Health Counselor at Nursery Rd and Leaphart Elementary schools with Lexington County Community Mental Health. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and Masters of Social Work from the University of South Carolina. She has provided Early Intervention services to young children with Developmental Delays and their families through Easter Seals. Kathryn also has experience as a Nanny, Preschool teacher, and swim instructor. She addressed behavioral issues and family dynamics each setting. As a Social Worker at the Palmetto Health Medically Fragile Children’s program, Kathryn assisted families dealing with new diagnoses and navigating Medical and behavioral issues. Kathryn specializes in counseling Attention Deficit issues, Anxiety, Trauma, Bereavement, Parenting and Developmental Delays.

Lannie Ott, MA, LPCS

Lannie Ott is originally from Manning, SC where she attended Manning High School. After graduating, she furthered her education at Clemson University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Lannie taught 7th grade in Anderson County before returning to school at Columbia International University. Lannie was awarded a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from CIU in 2004. After graduating from her master's program, Lannie began working in addictions treatment for opiate addicts. In 2005, Lannie began her journey as a school based therapist for Lexington County Community Mental Health Center providing individual, family and group therapy for children at Harbison West and Irmo Elementary Schools. Lannie began working at SouthernMED Counseling in 2010.  She provides individual and family therapy sessions. Lannie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor with the State of South Carolina.

Dylan Davis, LPC

Dylan Davis is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He attended Clemson University where he was awarded a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. He then continued his education at Columbia International University and was awarded his Master's degree in Counseling. Prior to counseling in a professional setting, Dylan worked with teenagers and young adults in a variety of roles including churches, summer camps, and mentoring relationships. During his graduate program he gained experience counseling adolescents struggling with substance abuse utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Enhancement Therapy. 

Dana Thomas, MA, LPC-I

Dana Thomas was born in York, SC and graduated from York Comprehensive High School. She then attended Coker College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a Concentration in Counseling. She furthered her education by attending Harding University in Arkansas where she received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. After completing her education, she moved to Alexandria, Virginia with her husband. There she provided intensive in-home counseling to children and adults along with provided case management services to young adults within an independent living program. Dana made the journey back to South Carolina and gained further experience providing counseling within the Youth in Transition program at Lexington Mental Health. She is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern in the State of South Carolina. Dana provides individual and family therapy sessions at SouthernMed Counseling.   Dana is currently an LPC-I, and is working towards becoming and LPC.  She is under the supervision of Lannie J. Ott, a Licensed Professional Supervisor with the state of South Carolina.   

Diana Reiss, MA, LPC-I

Diana Reiss was raised in Norfolk, VA. Diana attended Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA, where she graduated with a B.S. in Psychology with a Minor in Women and Gender Studies in 2012. Diana then moved to Columbia, South Carolina in the Fall of 2012 to attend Columbia International University. She received her M.A. in Counseling in 2015. Diana interned for a year at First Presbyterian Christian Counseling Center, where she worked with individuals and couples addressing depression, anxiety, and relational issues. Diana is currently an LPC-I, and is working towards becoming and LPC.  She is under the supervision of Lannie J. Ott, a Licensed Professional Supervisor with the state of South Carolina. 

Briana Dishongh, MA, LPC-I

Briana Dishongh grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia, and attended Hickory  High School. Briana went on to complete her Bachelors of Science at James Madison University, where she majored in psychology. She was a bank teller during her summers off from school, before attending the College of William and Mary, where she got her Master's of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Since graduating in 2015, Briana has worked as a Clinical Counselor and DSS Liaison for a local commission on alcohol and drug abuse. Briana began working for SouthernMED Counseling in 2017, where she provides individual and family therapy, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern in the state of South Carolina.

Tammy Howard, Front Office

Tammy was born and raised in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School in 1998. She then went to Midlands Tech and got an Associates Degree in Business. Tammy has worked in the medical field for 11 years. Once completion of college she then married her husband. Three years after they were married they had their first child, Emily and then 2 years later they had their son, James. They currently reside in Batesburg-Leesville.
